Disclosure and David Bowie favourites for Mercury Prize 2013
With the 2013 Barclaycard Mercury Prize nominations revealed yesterday, the bookies have chosen Disclosure as their favourite to pick up the award next month.
The debut record from the UK production duo, Settle has been given odds of 7/2, having already reached the top spot of the Albums Charts when released.
William Hill spokesperson Rupert Adams said: “Disclosure have been by far the best backed act with bets of up to £600 placed within minutes of their inclusion in the shortlist.”
David Bowie and Foals are also up there with Disclosure as most likely to pick up this year’s accolade.
On the other end of the spectrum, Jake Bugg and Laura Mvula have been put down as being least likely to be award the prize on 30 October.
