DIIV pull out of Reading and Leeds festivals due to illness
DIIV, the Brooklyn shoegazers led by frontman Zachary Cole Smith, have revealed that they’ve had to cancel a handful of European festival appearances after the singer came down with a batch of sickness.
The group had been scheduled to perform at Reading Festival on Saturday and then its sister event, Leeds Festival, on Sunday. However, Smith has confirmed these slots will no longer take place.
Smith posted the news on Twitter, writing the following:
hey, this sucks but i’m too sick to play Reading and Leeds this weekend. we just called and cancelled. i’m so fucking sorry. back soon. xoxo

DIIV also failed to appear at Rock en Seine in France last night (23 August). They’re scheduled for Captured Tracks’ 5th anniversary festival next weekend, which looks likely to go ahead as planned.
