David Bowie voted best-dressed Brit of all-time
A music icon with a vast repertoire of iconic looks and guises, David Bowie has been voted the best-dressed Briton in history in a new poll.
BBC History Magazine have ran a feature in this month’s issue looking for the slickest Brit of all-time, with the Thin White Duke coming top with 48.5% of the vote.
“Bowie has profoundly influenced so many of us,” said designer Wayne Hemingway. “Here was a creative genius who understood art and design, looked cool, inspired us and upset the establishment. All these attributes lead to things that drive humankind forward.”
The musician, who released his comeback album The Next Day earlier this year, beat the likes of Queen Elizabeth I and “the original dandy” Beau Brummell to the accolade.
