This new David Bowie boxset covers the Berlin Trilogy (and more) and looks amazing
An comprehensive new David Bowie boxset - the third in a career-spanning series - has been announced. It's called A New Career In A New Town and covers the works released between 1977-1982.
The set follows Five Years (1969-1973) and Who Can I Be Now? (1974-1976) and features the legendary Berlin Trilogy (Low, "Heroes", and Lodger), Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps), both the original and 2017 editions of Stage, and more. The Baal EP is being released for the first time on CD in its entirety (featuring CD and digital debuts for "Beauty And The Beast (extended version)" and "Breaking Glass (Australian single version)", with the new edition of Stage also featuring unreleased material.
A New Career also includes a new "Heroes" EP that collects the German and French album and single versions of Bowie's iconic single for the first time, plus a new RE:CALL 3 EP featuring B-sides, soundtrack material, and non-album singles.
The CD, digital, and 'audiophile vinyl' sets all include an exclusive version of Lodger mixed this year by Bowie's longtime producer and collaborator Tony Visconti - the remixing began with Bowie's blessing prior to his passing last January and is rounded off by a 'remix' of the artwork featuring unseen shots from the original cover shoot.
The set will also contain a book featuring previously unpublishied pictures from big name photographers, including Anton Corbijn, Helmut Newton, Andrew Kent, Steve Schapiro, and Duffy, as well as "historical press reviews and technical notes about the albums from producer Tony Visconti."
