Danish designer helps music fans visualise the sound of vinyl

Graphic designer Michael Hansen has come up with a novel way to bring a visual element to the experience of playing a record.
Hansen’s specially printed designs on the surface of the vinyl use a stop motion animation technique tuned to the rotatinal speed of a record – this allows movement to occur when the record is exposed to strobe lighting at 50 to 60 Hz, as you can see below:
The project was commissioned to accompany a two track recording by modern classical composer Allan Gravgaard Madsen and Hansen’s designs are conceptually aligned to the each track.
