Interpol's Daniel Kessler unveils side project, Big Noble
Interpol guitarist Daniel Kessler's new side project, Big Noble, have released a video for the first track to be taken from debut album First Light: "PEG". The side project sees Kessler join forces with sound designer Joseph Fraioli, who he met in 1999 via the label Caipirinha.
The sound is distinctively Kessler; on this track, his delay-driven guitar beautifully entwines with a compelling cinematic flourish. The video captivates the dark, atmospheric sound which glides with tension; and, despite the bleak wintry images that parades before your retinas, it has an incisive warming quality.
Fraioli described it on Twitter as:
'immersive and perspective-changing... sonically a lot of the arrangements feel technically vast, but there's an intimacy that I hope listeners will find addictive to escape within'
First Light is released 2 February on Affiliates Sound via Kobalt Label Services.
