Damon Albarn plays music from The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows in Boiler Room set
Damon Albarn played Boiler Room's Streaming from Isolation livestream yesterday (17 May), and played some music from his The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows project.
Albarn originally announced the project in October 2019, revealing that he'll be touring the project around Europe, and added a London show to his tour in February.
The shows have been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, so instead, Albarn decided to play some of the pieces from the project as part of Boiler Room's Streaming from Isolation series.
Albarn's new project is inspired by the landscapes of Iceland, and when he does eventually tour it, it'll see Albarn perform with an ensemble of orchestra instrumentation, electronics, vocals, and piano, featuring 14 musicians and four singers.
The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows title is inspired by John Clare's poem Love and Memory.
