Damon Albarn is currently touring in support of his solo debut Everyday Robots, but treated a recent crowd in Boston to a rare treat: a rendition of Blur’s “Song 2”.
It was the first time Albarn has performed the song without his Britpop band and he even wore an elephant hat that had been thrown on stage for the occasion.
“If it doesn’t go well, I promise you I’ll never do it again,” he said beforehand. From the audience’s reaction, I’m sure he’ll be adding it to his setlist from here forth.
