Courtney Love cools reports of upcoming Hole reunion
Last week, we reported that Courtney Love was set to reunite the classic Celebrity Skin-era line-up of her band Hole. Now, it appears we may have spoken too soon.
Love had previously told The Quietus that she’d been practicing again with guitarist Eric Erlandson, drummer Patty Schemel and bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur, but nothing is set in stone she says.
“We may have made out but there is no talk of marriage,” the singer recently elaborated to The Telegraph. “It’s very frail, nothing might happen, and now the band are all flipping out with me”.
Elsewhere in the new interview, Love goes on to dismiss comparisons she receives to Yoko Ono (“I never sat in on rehearsals. But Kurt thought Yoko was cool. He was an early adopter. He gave me a Yoko Ono box set when I was pregnant. Which I threw at his head. I wasn’t really a fan”) and to make a slight dig at Dave Grohl (“I can’t just do a really good rock record and that’s the end of it. I can’t be Nickelback. And not to be a bitch, I can’t be the Foo Fighters.”)
Hole are, however, set to release a new single entitled “Wedding Day” shortly.
