Courtney Barnett headlines End of The Road’s Saturday night
End Of The Road's Saturday was capped off by a sensational headline slot from Courtney Barnett.
The Australian singer/songwriter’s lackadaisical style and razor-sharp wit was the perfect peak for the Woods Stage.
Barnett played material from the storied Tell Me How You Really Feel, alongside essential anthems “Nobody Really Cares If You Don’t Go To The Party” and “Avant Gardener” - which drew staggering crowds. Her conversational onstage patter served her well: “Did I hear that right? You think Dave’s [Maudie, drummer] hair looks good?” She said to a member of the audience, met with an affirmative roar. “Well,” she shrugged, “it’s a good job it’s not a competition...” - alluding, of course, to her signature barnet. Her sense of humour and indie-pop bliss was a seamless fit for the headlining slot.
