Colombia is to get its own Lollapalooza festival next year
Colombia is set to get its own Lollapalooza festival in 2016 as the events company rapidly expands.
Later this year, the first Lollapalooza in Berlin will take place. The Chicagoan festival has opted to launch a fourth South American event due to a heaving European calendar.
Charlie Walker, a co-founder of festival promoter C3 said: “Europe is obviously saturated. We look for super fast-growing, robust economies. There’s a press article every day about what’s happening in Colombia. South America isn’t very crowded, and now the Lollapalooza brand is big enough that people know about it before we get there.”
Colombia's Lollapalooza is expected in autumn, unlike the rest of the Lollapaloozas on the continent, due to Bogota partner, T310/Absent Papa, being busy with Estéreo Picnic in the spring.
