Chvrches air Goonies-nodding tune "Never Say Die"
Scottish synth troupe Chvrches have unveiled "Never Say Die", the third preview of forthcoming full-length Love Is Dead.
"'Never Say Die' is one of my favourite songs on the record because it really leans into the juxtaposition of what we do - the mixture between the dark and the light. It’s melodic and direct but uses some of the gnarliest sounds we’ve ever tried," explains the band's Lauren Mayberry. "The chorus lyric came about very quickly but the verses took a lot longer. I really wanted to sum up a feeling of trying to be optimistic when you feel disillusioned by the people around you, but trying to keep going because 'Goonies Never Say Die'.”
"Never Say Die" links up with "My Enemy" (a joint with Matt Berninger of The National) and "Get Out" to preview the follow up to 2015 LP Every Open Eye.
