Christopher Owens says he's "excited to share" songs he recorded with Curls soon
Christopher Owens has given an update on his new music, revealing that he's "excited" to share songs that he recorded with Curls soon.
Owens hasn't released new music since Curls' 2017 debut EP Vante, although he did share a cover of Randy Newman's "Texas Girl at the Funeral of Her Father" at the start of the year on YouTube.
In a new interview with San Francisco Examiner, Owens revealed that he's been talking to some record labels about releasing material he recorded with his Curls band. Owens said, "The music that we made during those sessions was amazing. Like some of the best stuff I’ve ever done. I’m really excited to share those songs soon."
He also reflected on Girls, saying, "Nobody will have a memory from a Girls show that had bad vibes. Maybe most people wouldn’t have ended it when we did, but I think it was the right time. That band was bigger than all of us, and it should be protected in that way now. Girls is one of those few bands that will always be perfect."
Owens also said of his late Girls bandmate Chet "JR" White, "We were still very close right until the end. I talked to him not long before he died. It was a shock for me. I knew he was unhealthy, but I didn't ever think it would get to that. It’s just incredibly sad. I miss him."
