Christopher Owens playing Girls material live again
Since his former band’s split and the unveiling of his fully-fledged solo career, ex-Girls frontman Christopher Owens has seemed hell-bent on looking forward rather than back, taking to playing an array of covers live alongside his debut LP tracks, rather than dipping back into his back-catalogue.
But with his Lysandre touring cycle in its twilight hours, and following the release of a free Lysandre Acoustic EP, Owens appears more comfortable with the idea of reinventing old numbers.
As The 405 point out, Owens recently played (somewhat symbolically) his former band’s first hit ‘Lust For Life’ at a show in Taipei recently, making it one of his first solo renditions of a Girls cut since going it alone.
Owens returns to the UK next month (29 May) for a gig at London’s Union Chapel, let’s hope a splices a few more oldies in then too.
