Christian Lee Hutson teases cover of Santana's "Smooth"
Christian Lee Hutson has teased a cover of Santana's "Smooth" track in response to Phoebe Bridgers and Maggie Rogers' cover of Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris".
In November 2020, Bridgers and Rogers teamed up to release a cover of Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" after Bridgers promised to cover the song if Trump lost the US election.
Close collaborator Christian Lee Hutson has entered 2021 by offering (and potentially joking about) a cover of Santana's 1999 track "Smooth" with help from Conor Oberst.
Hutson wrote, "we know how much y’all loved phoebe and maggie covering iris so conor and i are gonna cover smooth by santana."
The musician also added a 15-second clip of him playing the "Smooth" melody on guitar, but didn't offer any clarity as to whether he's just joking.
