Childish Gambino to write, soundtrack and star in new TV series about Atlanta music scene
American actor, comedian and Community star Donald Glover (aka rapper Childish Gambino) is leaving the NBC college cult comedy for his own project on FX.
It’s been confirmed that master of all entertainment trades is developing a music-themed comedy for FX entitled Atlanta. The half an hour series is set around Atlanta’s music scene (which Glover grew up around) and he will write, produce and play the lead protagonist on the show.
In July, Glover took a step back from Community and is only appearing in five episodes this season. He has also spoken about focusing on his rap career as Childish Gambino.
