Childish Gambino ditches hip-hop on psych-soul saga "Redbone"

Childish Gambino's dropped the supremely funky "Redbone", a late-night slow jam from upcoming LP "Awaken, My Love!".
It solidifies Donald Glover's ambitious move away from hip-hop that he's teased over the years - this is a sensational slab of psych-soul with dizzying falsetto and rubbery bass.
"Redbone" follows extensive funk freak-out "Me and You Mama", which came with album's announcement last week.
Gambino's last release was 2014 mixtape STN MTN/KAUAI, and his last record was 2013's Because The Internet. Since he last released music, Gambino returned to TV with acclaimed FX series Atlanta.
"Awaken, My Love!" is expected 2 December via Glassnote. Pre-order now.
