Mark Ronson, riding high on a wave of radical funkitude in the form of Yuletide mega-hit "Uptown Funk", has just dropped "Daffodils", featuring Kevin Parker of Tame Impala.
The new track is one of a number on Ronson's new LP Uptown Special that features Parker. Other guests include Stevie Wonder, of course Bruno Mars, Jeff Bhasker, Mystikal, Keyonce Starr and Miike Snow vocalist Andrew Wyatt.
"Daffodils" veers wildly away from the MJ-tinged pop of "Uptown Funk", and plays to the strengths of Parker. There's still massive funky basslines and jagged chords, but it's all enveloped in a layer of psychedelic disco and woozy reverb.
