Charlotte Gainsbourg and Villagers to release split 7”
‘Memoir’ was written by Villagers’ Conor O’Brien for Charlotte Gainsbourg after she approached him to compose a song for here. Compiled between sound checks and radio sessions on his week-long tour of the Midwest last September, the track was recorded by the two in Paris and is set for release on Record Store Day.
Wrapped in artwork by O’Brien himself, the split 7” single features Villagers’ ‘Set the Tigers Free’ and Gainsbourg’s rendition of ‘Memoir.’
Those who have been lucky enough to catch Villagers live will have most likely heard this stunning track played in full before, but have a listen to a taster of Gainsbourg’s version below along with ‘Set the Tigers Free.’
