Channel 4 to televise six-hour house party, with Annie Mac and Grandmaster Flash
Channel 4 are set to air a six-hour house party, with Annie Mac and Grandmaster Flash among those taking part.
Six DJs will perform overall, with no adverts, studio audience and interruptions of any kind.
Annie Mac and Grandmaster Flash are the first acts to be announced, with more expected to follow.
Arts Commissioner Tabitha Jackson had the following to say of the event:
“There are four things about this all-nighter that excite me. Firstly, almost every element is uncharted territory: from the visual artists having to transform our screens by responding live to the DJs; to the scale of the real time on-screen and online interactivity; to the DJs having to reach directly into our living rooms rather than playing to a venue. If we can pull it off, we will have created a pretty unique experience.”
The show, which just so happens to be called ‘House Party’, will take place Friday 24 August from midnight to 6am.
