
Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa announce new Ghana festival Black Star Line
Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa are bringing a new festival to Accra, Ghana in January 2023 called Black Star Line.
Last night (19 July) Chance The Rapper shared a new video on socials of him and Vic Mensa announcing Black Star Line, a new festival that will take place in January 2023 at Accra, Ghana’s Black Star Square.
In the video, Chance The Rapper revealed that the festival will host 38,000 people.
Vic Mensa said, "Everything we're doing is with the goal of uniting and building a bridge between Black people of the diaspora and the globe, with the continent, and Ghana is the gateway to all of that."

Chance The Rapper and Vic Mensa's festival name is inspired by Marcus Garvey's steam ship company Black Star Line and Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, who was the first Prime Minister and President of Ghana after leading the Gold Coast to independence from Britain in 1957.
