CBGB set to reopen as a bar and restaurant in Newark Airport
Historic punk club CBGB has been given a new lease of life - as a restaurant at New Jersey's Newark Airport.
The original venue, considered by many to be the birthplace of punk, closed its doors in 2006, but it's set to be reborn a decade later with totally on-point menu items like Disco Fries for the pocket-friendly price of $9.
According to Gothamist, the owner of the CBGB name assigned it to a holding company, which has resulted in this unceremonious use of the venue's moniker.
Grub Street adds: "Somehow, Harold Moore hooked up with the lamented CBGB and will serve 'American fare in a fun environment recalling the legendary music venue.'"
