CBGB movie soundtrack to feature Talking Heads, Television, Velvet Underground & more
CBGB, the upcoming biopic directed by Randall Millar exploring the rise of the historic New York City nightclub of the same name, contains quite the collection of punk and new wave anthems on its soundtrack.
The 20-track OST features a huge list of bands and artists who helped CBGB’s rise to prominence, including Blondie, Talking Heads, MC5, The New York Dolls, Television, The Velvet Underground, Richard Hell, The Police and a selection from club founder Hilly Kristal entitled ‘Birds and the Bees’.
The film itself features the likes of Alan Rickman, Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint, Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and more.
The soundtrack will be available via Omnivore Recordings on 8 October as a deluxe digital version and on CD and double LP.
