Cambridge’s Modern Jazz club have announced a move to a new home: the Hidden Rooms, located at 7a Jesus Lane (under Pizza Express).
They’ve also announced three shows in the new venue.
Friday 24th September // John Etheridge
Legendary jazz guitarist John Etheridge takes a break from his acoustic work with John Williams and Sweet Chorus to bring a quartet to Cambridge, featuring young trumpet star Simon Finch, organ maestro Mike Gorman and Mark Fletcher on drums.
Friday 29th October // Arun Ghosh Quintet
The Arun Ghosh Quintet featuring Arun on clarinet, Pat Illingworth drums, Liran Donin bass, Idris Rahman sax and Corey Mwamba vibes. Conceived in Calcutta, bred in Bolton, matured in Manchester and now living in London. He released his debut album ‘Northern Namaste’ on camoci records in 2008 to critical acclaim.
November 26th November // MC Soweto Kinch
Award-winning alto saxophonist and MC Soweto Kinch brings his unique blend of jazz and hip-hop. His latest album release, ‘A Life in the day of B19’ is a concept album telling the story of inner city trials and triumphs in Kinch’s native Birmingham. Soweto Kinch is supported by Michael Olatuja bass, Troy Miller drums and Femi Temowo guitar.
All autumn season events are at the Hidden Rooms, and all begin at 8:00pm (Doors 7:30pm).
