Broods announce new album Conscious featuring collaborations with Lorde and Tove Lo
New Zealand brother/sister duo Broods have announced their sophomore long-player Conscious.
Tove Lo duets with Broods on the record, while Lorde co-wrote a track with them.
Speaking about Conscious, the band's Georgia Nott says: “We're very conscious of what we want to achieve with this album, and what kind of impact we want to make. It’s important to have a say over every aspect of your art.”
Brother Caleb adds: “After touring for so long, you start realising what songs you enjoy playing the most and what songs the audience reacts to the most. This album is a punch in the face compared to the last one. This one really goes for the throat.”
Joel Little (Lorde, Ellie Goulding) serves as executive producer on the LP. Broods themselves, plus Alex Hope and Captain Cuts, offer up additional production.
Conscious is out 24 June via American/Island/Capitol, and follows 2014 debut Evergreen.
