Brighton's Rounder Records announce closure
It’s with sad regret that we can confirm that Brighton’s iconic Rounder Records is set to close.
Announced in a statement today, the owners of the oldest and leading record shop in the city announced they are to shut their doors at the end of the month after 46 years open in Brighton Square.
Owner, Phil Barton said the following:
“The shop and the staff have always striven to be the best. We are not able to deliver the best anymore and with the deepest regret I have to close the doors at the end of July. Rounder has been a part of my life, and my loyal staff’s lives for so long that having to close is a very bitter pill to swallow. We tried everything to stay open, but the basic economics were killing us.”
Rounder Records will be open as usual until 6pm on Sunday 29 July. Up to 40% is off items in-store.
