Brainlove Festival 2010 is go! Your essential glimpse into the thriving UK underground is back with another packed bill of pop oddities, brand new talents, breaking leftfield acts and cult stars.
The first outdoor lineup has been released – featuring a sunset performance from Oxford’s We Aeronauts, a rare and precious UK performance from Icelandic troubadour Svavar Knutur, an improvised cello performance from Bleeding Heart Narrative’s Oliver Barrett, Norwich’s twee DIY duo The Middle Ones, arch pop from the Woe Betides, acclaimed Oxfordian blues man David G. Cox, DIY uke hero Jam On Bread, comedy from Chris Boyd (who we saw just before Josie Long at last year’s Green Man Festival) and lots more…
Having rammed Brixton’s Windmill to the rafters in 2009, Brainlove Festival continues to go from strength to strength. Distinguished by a carnival atmosphere, a packed out crowd and a cavalcade of sonic creativity, the festival has doubled to two days for 2010 with around 40 bands packed into the lineup on indoor and outdoor stages.
Many of the acts playing have now been announced, including the two main stage headliners – the extraordinarily talented David Thomas Broughton, and Drum Eyes, who’s lineup includes DJ Scotch Egg and members of Boredoms, Phil Collins 3 and Power Up.
Brainlove-signed bands Napoleon IIIrd, Stairs To Korea, A Scholar & A Physician, Mat Riviere and We Aeronauts are joined by BRNLV faves and friends such as Bleeding Heart Narrative, Gold Blood, Trademark and Trash Kit, who come from a recent performance at the ATP Festival.
Weekend tickets are priced at £20, whilst day tickets are £12 – both available now from WeGotTickets.
