Boris Johnson confirms indoor performances can return next month
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced during his latest coronavirus briefing that indoor performances with live audiences can return from 1 August.
The update on indoor performances arrives as Boris Johnson announces a number of lockdown measures easing (via BBC News).
Prior to today (17 July), indoor performances were only permitted to go ahead without a live audience, and only outdoor shows could host an audience.
During the latest coronavirus briefing, PM Johnson said he hopes that the UK will return to "significant" normality by mid-November, and if all goes to plan, the remaining lockdown measures could be eased "possibly for Christmas".
1 August will see numerous sectors of the economy reopen. Although nightclubs won't be reopening yet, indoor performances (with a live audience), along with beauty parlours, skating rinks and casinos, will be able to go reopen/go ahead.
