Blood Orange to host carpool new album listening parties
As Jerry Seinfeld realised with Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, you rarely find a person more reflective and relaxed than whilst in an automobile. And so, with a new Blood Orange album upcoming, Dev Hynes has decided to host individual album listening events from his very own car.
Posting on his official Facebook page earlier today, Hynes wrote: “This weekend I’ll be driving people around NYC playing my new record for them in the car, so if you messaged i’ll try and write back”.
Today, however, the New York public will be able to get a sneak peak even before the preview, with Dev adding that he’ll be “skating around the city playing an unmixed version” of the record.
The former Lightspeed Champion / Test Icicles musician first used the moniker for Coastal Grooves back in 2011, and will now follow-up it up with the tentatively-named Cupid Deluxe. The release date is not yet confirmed but will surface sometime soon, after more recently working as a producer and songwriter for Solange, Sky Ferreira and others.
