Blanck Mass shares new single "D7-D5"
Fuck Buttons frontman Benjamin John Power shares new track “D7-D5” under his Blanck Mass moniker.
The track is released as part of the Adult Swim singles series and is set to have a limited vinyl pressing in September.
Power views the track as a progression from Manuel Göttsching's 1984 electronic record E2-E4, describing "D7-D5" as "the second move in a game of chess" to SPIN.
“D7-D5” builds on the electronic sound pallet started by Göttsching but adds Blanck Mass’ own industrial energy. The video, directed by Jake McGowan, features black and white shots of one man’s "flurry of emotions and human states which are common during a battle of any size, including a game of chess".
The single is the first release from Blanck Mass since 2015’s Great Confuso EP.
