BLACKPINK's Rosé sets two new Guinness World Records with debut solo single "On The Ground"
Rosé of BLACKPINK has set two new Guinness World Records with the release of her debut solo single "On The Ground".
Last month BLACKPINK's Rosé made her solo debut with "On The Ground", and Guinnes World Records reports that the release has set two new new Guinness World Records titles.
Rosé has become the first artist to reach number one on a Billboard Global chart as a solo artist and as part of a group, having topped the Global Billboard 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US on 27 March with "On The Ground", as well as reaching number one on the Global Excl. US chart with BLACKPINK's "Lovesick Girls".
On top of that, the video for "On The Ground" also broke a record, by becoming the most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo K-pop artist, gaining 41.6 million views.
Guinness World Records reports that "On The Ground" "shattered" the previous record for the most-viewed YouTube music video by a solo K-pop artist in 24 hours, which was PSY's "Gangnam Style" with 36 million views.
BLACKPINK previously held world records for the most-viewed YouTube video, and most-viewed music video in 24 hours for "Kill This Love", but were soon overtaken by BTS' hit single "Dynamite".
