Listen: Black Honey - "Teenager" (Demo)
Black Honey mysteriously appeared out of nowhere back in July with their debut track, “Sleep Forever”. The Brightonian band created a sonic slice of all-American apple pie with their somnophilic ode, and now tackle another product of American culture with their latest demo, “Teenager”.
Western-like guitars are predominant throughout the track and owe inspiration to the jangliness of surf rock and the mellowness of psych rock. String-sounding keyboards and a booming rhythm section blend in the background, whilst the female vocals chant a chorus that declare undying devotion and submission, making the Lana del Rey comparisons quite unavoidable.
“Teenager” is out on Duly Noted Records.
