Birdwatching collective Flock Together release three EPs to celebrate Earth Day 2022
Flock Together, a global birdwatching collective founded in London in lockdown 2020, have released three Taste the Sky EPs to celebrate Earth Day 2022.
As Highsnobiety reported last year, Flock Together is defined by co-founders Ollie Olanipekun and Nadeem Perera as "a bird watching support club challenging the underrepresentation of Black, Brown, and other POC in nature," and today (20 April) the collective has released three Taste the Sky EPs that celebrate talent in London, New York and Tokyo.
Olanipekun said of the EPs, "Flock Together is a hugely ambitious platform and this music series is another initiative in a long line that really pushes the possibilities of what a community focused group can achieve when we come together. We have endless talent within our network and this project has been the perfect way to showcase our members from across the world."
Taste the Sky - London features five tracks with contributions from Anu, Earbuds and KAM-BU, while the Taste the Sky - New York EP credits Shay The Poet, Remy Banks and Lansky Jones. Flock Together's Taste the Sky - Tokyo EP credits MJ The Sensei, EVISBEATS, Bludlo and Ume as contributors.
A percentage of royalties from every Taste the Sky EP will be donated to community charities in London, New York City and Tokyo. In the UK, proceeds will benefit social mobility organisation Beyond The Bias.
The birdwatching collective are also preparing to release their first book The Outsiders this summer.
