Billy Corgan suing distributor for back royalties
Now that Billy Corgan has lulled all into a false sense of security by posing for Paws (as pictured above), the Smashing Pumpkins frontman has come out swinging in a new lawsuit against his LA distributor over back royalties.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Corgan filed a suit in the Los Angeles Supreme Court on Wednesday. Corgan stated that he’d signed a deal giving Rocket Science, Inc.; Skyrocket Holdings, LLC and its principal Kevin Day exclusive distribution rights for some of his recordings, effective 1 January, 2010. Corgan is suing for breach of contract, claiming that Day did not observe standard business practices—including maintaining separate bank accounts—and that Day used business funds to cover personal expenses.
The suit states that an amount cannot be determined without an accounting of Day’s receipts and expenses related to the music in question.
