Bill Murray to play washed-up music manager in new film Rock the Kasbah
Details of a new Bill Murray movie have emerged, to be unveiled at the Toronto Film Festival later this week.
As The Hollywood Reporter note, the still-in-production project Rock The Kasbah will be helmed by director Barry Levinson and stars Murray as a “burned-out music manager who goes to Afghanistan on the USO tour with his last remaining client”.
Production company QED continue that the film’s plot will see Murray’s character “discover a young girl with an extraordinary voice, who stows away with him back to Kabul to compete on the popular television show The Afghan Star, Afghanistan’s equivalent of American Idol”.
There has been no release date given for the project as of yet, but more details are likely to be revealed shortly.
