Big Red Machine share cover of Aimee Mann's "Wise Up" to encourage voting
Big Red Machine, the collaborative project of Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and The Nationals' Aaron Dessner, have shared a cover of Aimee Mann's "Wise Up" as part of the For Wisconsin voting initiative.
Vernon and Dessner have released their cover of "Wise Up" as part of the For Wisconsin voting initiative yesterday (2 November) to encourage voting today (3 November).
The National’s Bryce Dessner, Bryan Devendorf, Scott Devendorf, Ben Lanz, Jon Low and Mina Tindle contributed to the "Wise Up" cover.
Aaron Dessner wrote alongside the cover, "We recorded this cover of Wise Up, one of my very favorite Aimee Mann songs, for beautiful Wisconsin. Her lyrics keep coming into my brain these days. The stakes couldn't be any higher in this election and it may come down to a handful of votes. Text 56005 to VOTE."
On Sunday (1 November) the For Wisconsin campaign shared a performance video of Feist covering Cat Stevens' "Trouble".
