Big Machine Records to release early Taylor Swift singles on limited vinyl despite row

Taylor Swift's former label Big Machine Records has announced limited vinyl versions of her early singles amid her dispute with Scooter Braun.

Last month Scooter Braun was revealed to have acquired Big Machine Records, the label that holds the masters of Taylor Swift's first six albums.

Swift shared her thoughts about Braun in a Tumblr post, writing, "I learned about Scooter Braun’s purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world. All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years."

She added, "Now Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it.

Justin Bieber came forward in support of Braun on Instagram, alongside Braun's wife, Yael Braun, and Sia. Then Sky Ferreira shared a message about exploitation in the music industry, and "ME!" collaborator Brendon Urie shared his support for Swift alongside Lily Allen.

Despite the row, Big Machine Records announced yesterday (10 July) that they will be releasing Taylor Swift's "Teardrops On My Guitar" and "Tim McGraw".

According to Billboard, the label planned the release of Swift's singles before Braun has acquired the label.

The "Teardrops On My Guitar" vinyl will be released 30 August, and is available to pre-order now. Taylor Swift's new album Lover drops of 23 August.
