Ben Gibbard reworks Death Cab for Cutie's 'Soul Meets Body' into synth-pop track
Ben Gibbard has remade some of his Death Cab For Cutie tracks as synth-pop numbers in collaboration with Built to Spill bassist Brett Nelson.
The Electronic Anthology Project is Nelson’s venture in which he re imagines electronic versions of indie favourites. Rather than producing a whole album together, Nelson and Gibbard collaborated on two tracks, ‘Soul Meets Body’ (from Plans) and ‘Champagne From a Paper Cup’ (off Something About Airplanes) on which the Death Cab for Cutie front-man contributed new vocals.
They are both be released today as a digital singlem with an exclusive 7″ vinyl which will follow in August. Below you can check out a stream of its A-side, ‘Soul Meets Body’, below – via CoS:
