Bauhaus frontman to tour despite hit-and-run arrest
Former Bauhaus frontman, Peter Murphy has pleaded not guilty to charges of drug possession and a hit-and-run attack.
Murphy, who recently announced he would tour playing Bauhaus material later this year to mark the group’s 35th anniversary, was detained in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon (16 March).
The L.A. Times report that amphetamines were found in Murphy’s possession and that the singer injured another driver in a head-on collision, before fleeing the scene.
Now, however, a message has been posted on Murphy’s Facebook page saying that “all charges that were originally filled as felonies were lowered to misdemeanours and Peter was released with with no bail or restrictions… Even on the lower charges Peter has pleaded not guilty.”
It continues: “We cannot say anything more right now as after pleading NOT guilty to all charges Peter now must say no more until this matter is resolved.”
