Bandcamp has announced the launch of Bandcamp Live, a livestreaming feature that will allow artists to host ticketed livestream events on the site.

Bandcamp Live, announced today, will allow artists to host ticketed livestream shows, and allows fans to support the artists directly.

The new feature is integrated with the rest of the site, meaning Bandcamp will be able to notify fans when an artist announces a show, as well as showing links to music and merchandise, available right next to an artist's stream.

Bandcamp Live will also include an optional chat that allows fans to discuss the livestream, and will show all purchases in the chat to boost sales.

Artists will be able to price their livestream event however they want. Bandcamp have confirmed they will take 10%, but are waiving their cut until 31 March 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Bandcamp has supported artists throughout the pandemic by waiving its revenue shares on all sales across the site for the first Friday of each month since March (Bandcamp Fridays), and it'll carry on for the rest of 2020.

The company launched Bandcamp Live today (17 November), and David Allred will be the first artist to host a livestream on the site this evening. Other upcoming livestream shows include Hatchie on 28 November, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith on 21 December, Moaning on 13 February 2021, Cloud Nothings on 27 February 2021, and other shows with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Louis Cole, Genevieve Artadi and more, with dates yet to be confirmed.
