Avicii's family launch launch the Tim Bergling Foundation
Avicii's family have established a new mental health foundation in honour of the late musician.
The Tim Bergling Foundation was launched yesterday (26 March) after the musician was found dead last year in his hotel room in Oman aged just 28.
Avicii's family stated in the press release, "Tim wanted to make a difference. Starting a foundation in his name is our way to honour his memory and continue to act in his spirit."
The foundation will initially focus on mental health and suicide prevention, but plans to extend with initiatives towards climate change, endangered species protection, and nature conservation.
In August last year, Avicii's family revealed a digital memorial where fans could submit a written memory or letter in memory of the Swedish musician.
Hundreds of fans also gathered at the memorial service in Stockholm in November 2018 (via NME).
