Austra lead the charge at East London music, film and arts showcase (NSFW)
Ahead of their debut album release next month, North American goth-electro popsters and Domino signings Austra proved to be one of highlights of yesterday’s Dazed Live showcase in East London.
In an early evening slot – with a publicised stage time of 18:16 (we kid you not), the band were welcomed onstage at XOYO with a few words from Radio 1′s Huw Stephens. Canadian-born Katie Stelmanis – along with a reduced head count of Austra’s personnel – fought against a sunny evening, a hot venue and bunches of noisy hipsters to punch through a set that included TLOBF favourite ‘Beat and The Pulse’.
Austra play Islington Mill, Manchester tonight (10 April) and Corsica Studio’s, London on Tuesday (12 April).
The debut album ‘Feel it Break’ drops on 16 May with a series of North American dates following from the 19-28 May.
