Arthur Russell's catalogue set for release in the UK and Europe
Arthur Russell's catalogue will arrive in the UK and Europe, beginning with World of Echo and Iowa Dream that will be reissued next month.
The releases of Russell's work in the UK and Europe comes after Rough Trade expanded its licensing partnership with Audika Records based in Portland, Oregon.
Audika Records is the label that houses the late musician's musical archive, and as part of the new deal, Russell's 1986 album World of Echo and Iowa Dream albums will be coming to the UK and Europe next month.
After the first two albums are reissued, Russell's Calling Out of Context and Instrumentals will follow early next year, with more titles still to be announced.
Rough Trade Records' Geoff Travis said, "When we started working with Arthur we had no idea he would turn out to be one of the seminal Artists of this century. We did know that his cello playing, his wonderful singing and his sensibility; melding modern classical with the Buddhist sense of space in the world, moved us deeply. We are proud to have helped push the boat out from the shore."
