Arab Strap are hinting at their comeback this afternoon
After teasing their return last week, Arab Strap are now directing fans to listen to BBC Radio 6 Music later today (1 September), hinting that they could be releasing a new track.
Last week, Arab Strap, the duo made up of Malcolm Middleton and Aidan Moffat, launched their Twitter account with a film-style poster that claimed "Arab Strap Lives!". The poster also featured the tag line, "They're back from the grave and ready to rave", and teased a vague release date, "Coming up soon".
Last Friday (28 August), BBC Radio 6 Music also teased Arab Strap's comeback by asking listeners to guess the mystery lyricist. They wrote, "An act beloved of 6 Music are returning after 15 years. Can you guess who it is? Join Steve Lamacq on Tuesday from 4pm to find out." The lyrics read, "Let's not be bashful / Don't be oblique / The flesh is willing / But the spirit is weak."
