Apple have refunded the family of a five-year old boy who spent £1,700 while haplessly browsing iTunes on his father’s iPad.
Danny Kitchen, from Bristol, was given the password to his father Greg’s Apple Store account after asking to download a free game. The boy, instead, accidentally itemised successive £69.99 purchases.
The family were alerted to the incident the following day after both their credit card company and Apple themselves got in touch, recognising the suspicious activity.
Apple later refunded the full amount, with the child’s mother Sharon Kitchen saying they had been “fantastic” in their co-operation.
