Angel Haze talks about leaking her own debut album
Angel Haze has explained the reasons behind her decision to leak her own debut album online last week.
The rapper previously uploaded Dirty Gold in full after patience ran out with her label’s decision to delay the release further. The Soundcloud link was soon deleted but Angel Haze did manage to get her label to agree to release it early. Instead of its original due date of March, the LP will now drop on 30 December.
Angel Haze now says that the record has been finished for up to “seven months” and “had to set an example” against the increasing dominance that labels have on their artists.
“I’ve been so desperate for you guys to hear new music”, she told her fans in a video posted to Youtube. “If the main source of your happiness becomes the sole source of your stress, then something needs to fucking change.”
