Andrew W.K. and the philosophy of partying is as relevant in 2018 as it ever was
Andrew W.K. drops in to help us celebrate the fiftieth episode of our podcast Talk The Line with a chat on the philosophy of partying hard.
The California-born singer’s debut album I Get Wet is undeniably iconic – from the bloody-nosed portrait on the cover to the record’s breakout single “Party Hard” which launched a thousand games of beer pong. This year he released You’re Not Alone, his first new album in almost ten years. Andrew says that the record is “an exaltation of my love for music itself…a plea [to myself] to recognize music’s eternal power and glory, in the face of hardship and pain.”
Partying hard remains integral to everything Andrew does- he’s even built a life philosophy around it and after giving a four hour lecture in New York in 2006, he kicked off a motivational speaking tour that played across every state in the US – and (of course) that’s what we’re talking to Andrew about today for our fiftieth episode!
