Andrew Bird is back with new single "Atomized", marking his first new material of 2022.
"Atomized" is Bird's first new material since last year's These 13 collaborative album with Jimbo Mathus, and is accompanied by a Matthew Daniel Siskin-directed video.
Bird says of the single, "Didion was updating W.B. Yeats for the fractious 60s. This song takes it to the pixelated present where it’s not just society that is getting atomized but the self that is being broken apart and scattered."
He's yet to follow up his 2020 album Hark!.
Andrew Bird's "Atomized" track is out now on Loma Vista / Concord. He'll play London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 19 July. Visit andrewbird.net for tickets.
