Andre 3000′s Jimi Hendrix biopic movie to premiere at SXSW
As well as a solo album and Outkast reunion, Andre 3000 also has a new film upcoming: his Jimi Hendrix biopic. Now, it’s been revealed that that flick will debut at this year’s South By South-West festival.
SXSW 2014 runs in Austin, Texas from 5-7 March, featuring most bands you care to name. The John Ridley-directed All Is By My Side will be shown on one of the fest’s film stages.
Interestingly, the movie itself won’t actually contain any Hendrix songs, after the late guitarist estate refused to give the makers permission to use his music. Instead, Andre 3000 performs tracks by Muddy Waters, Elmore James and The Beatles.
