Andre 3000 and Big Boi to release solo albums before next Outkast record
Rumours and hopes of a new Outkast record have been rife since the hip-hop pair announced they will reunite for a tour in 2014. But it looks like you’ll have to wait a little while until you actually get to hear a new LP.
Despite the duo’s former manager Queen Latifah revealing that they’ve been working on new material, the group’s producer Mr. DJ told Revolt that solo projects will be delivered first.
That’s not to say a new Outkast album will never surface, as he adds: “I get the feeling that the energy and camaraderie from the tour will bring everything full circle. We may make it back in for an album following that.”
The new record would be their first since 2006′s Idlewild.
